Alam Maritim says CEO under remand by MACC


KUALA LUMPUR: Alam Maritim Resources Bhd has announced that its group managing director and group CEO, Datuk Azmi Ahmad, is under remand to facilitate an ongoing investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

It said in a stock exchange filing the remand is to facilitate the ongoing investigation and does not constitute any finding of wrongdoing.

"The Board has taken the necessary measures to ensure continuity of the Group's operations and will make further announcements should there be any material development," it added.

At the last transacted price before the lunch break, Alam Maritim shares were down 0.5 sen or 1.92% to 25.5 sen per share on volume of 229,300 shares.
