KUALA LUMPUR: Pos Malaysia Bhd
said it remains cautiously optimistic of year-on-year (y-o-y) improvement after a first-half that showed narrowing losses amid its ongoing transformation.
There was positive momentum across all the group's business segments, stronger parcel volume growth, improved contributions from Pos Aviation and Pos Logistics, and growth from the group’s other businesses, including digital certification, data services and Pos Ar-Rahnu.
In the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, the postal service provider said net loss shrank to RM43.46mil from RM45.52mil in the same quarter in 2025. Quarterly revenue rose to RM481.3mil from RM441.57mil in the comparative quarter.
Over the cumulative six months to June 30, Pos Malaysia said net loss narrowed to RM63.01mil from RM86.94mil in the year-ago period. Its revenue during the period expanded to RM982.66mil from RM908.63mil in the comparative period.
"2Q shows that the hard work to reshape Pos Malaysia is delivering measurable progress. We are growing revenue, reducing losses and generating positive operating cash flow, while continuing to strengthen the basics of the business.
"The market remains tough, but our focus is clear: run the business with discipline, improve service and productivity, and build a more sustainable Pos Malaysia that continues to serve every Malaysian," said group CEO Charles Brewer in a statement.
During the period, Pos Malaysia's postal segment recorded a 3.5% year-on-year (y-o-y) increase in revenue, drive by strong parcel volume growth of 34.3%.
It said the improved performance reflects the group’s strengthened market position, supported by improved service reliability and the continued expansion of Malaysia’s ecommerce ecosystem.
The Pos Aviation segment, meanwhile, saw higher in-flight catering and station-handling volumes in 1H26 for a 14.2% y-o-y increase in revenue to RM210.5mil, while pre-tax profit jumped 60% to RM9.9mil
Pos Logistics continues to see progress in its turnaround efforts, shaving its pre-tax loss by 45.2% to RM13.8mil, while revenue grew 24.1% to RM125.8mil.
The group’s other businesses, comprising Pos Digicert’s digital certification services, Datapos and Pos Ar-Rahnu’s gold financing business, recorded 11.3% higher revenue y-o-y to RM105.3mil, while pre-tax profit improved about 78% to RM23.3mil.
