KUALA LUMPUR: AmBank Group has been named Malaysia’s Best Bank for Corporate Responsibility at the prestigious Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2026.
In a statement, the bank said the international award recognises its commitment to driving sustainable and inclusive growth by empowering communities, supporting underserved groups, and championing environmental stewardship nationwide.
Over the last financial year alone, the bank contributed more than RM2mil through the AmGroup Foundation to fuel community programmes. These efforts reached nearly 30,000 beneficiaries across more than 150 initiatives nationwide, spanning youth development, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, environmental conservation, and community welfare.
The group said its Community Empowerment Framework focuses on five core pillars: protecting the environment and endangered species, empowering B40 economic participation, strengthening partnerships with schools and universities, fighting hunger through humanitarian aid, and supporting people with disabilities and critical illnesses.
AmBank Group Chief Executive Officer Jamie Ling stated that the recognition from Euromoney is an honour for the group, noting that the "Winning Together" purpose extends beyond customers and shareholders to include the broader community, while giving credit to the employee base that made the milestone possible.
Echoing this sentiment, Shazman Shahid, head of group corporate communications and marketing at AmBank Group and supervisor of the AmGroup Foundation, added that the foundation remains focused on purposeful and sustainable initiatives.
"This award reinforces that corporate responsibility is not an add-on at AmBank, it is embedded in how we operate and how we define progress," he added.
