Fire breaks out at Asia File’s UK paper mill


PETALING JAYA: Asia File Corp Bhd says a fire broke out at the paper mill of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Higher Kings Mill Ltd (HKM), in Cullompton, Devon, United Kingdom, on Aug 6.

The fire, which occurred in the afternoon, involved a paper machine located on the ground floor of the factory.

Asia File said all personnel were safely evacuated before firefighters arrived, with no injuries or casualties reported.

Based on preliminary assessments by HKM’s engineering team, the affected paper machine is expected to remain non-operational for about one month to allow for repair works, it said.
