KUALA LUMPUR: Stratus Global Holdings Bhd expects to double its order book within the next 12 months, driven by strong demand from existing and new semiconductor customers, following its listing on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

Stratus Global is a Penang-based factory automation solutions provider specialising in cleanroom automated material handling system solutions for the semiconductor industry.

Executive director and chief executive officer Ryo Narisawa said the company had already weathered a slower period and was now seeing active engagement with customers, underpinning confidence in stronger earnings growth.

“Within 12 months, we are going to boost our order book by a factor of at least two, maybe even four times. So we can expect our revenue to expand during the next fiscal year, if not this fiscal year,” he said.

At the opening gong, Stratus Global made its debut on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia at RM1.96, a premium of RM1.16 over its initial public offering (IPO) price of 80 sen, with 29.18 million shares traded.

Commenting on the opening price, Narisawa described the market debut as better than expected, adding that this was only the beginning of the company’s growth journey. At 5pm, the stock surged 163.75%, or RM1.31, to close at RM2.11.

Narisawa said the IPO had provided Stratus Global with a stronger financial base to accelerate its expansion plans amid the rapid growth of the semiconductor industry. — Bernama
