Rimbunan Sawit faces Sarawak disruptions

PETALING JAYA: Rimbunan Sawit Bhd (RSB) has announced that it is experiencing disruptions to its Ulu Teru Estate operations in Sarawak due to a blockage of the main access route.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, RSB said access to the estate of the subsidiary, namely PJP Pelita Ulu Teru Plantation Sdn Bhd, has been disrupted since June 18, 2026, due to a blockage of the main access route to the estate.

“As a result of the blockage, harvesting, transportation of fresh fruit bunches, and certain estate operations have been affected.

“The company has been engaging with the relevant authorities and other stakeholders to resolve the matter as expeditiously as possible and is implementing operational measures to minimise the impact on its plantation activities.”

The company said the duration of the disruption remains uncertain.

“The company is in the process of assessing the operational and financial impact arising from the blockage.

“The company will make further announcements should there be any material developments or when the financial impact can be reasonably determined.”
