PMW secures RM12mil fibre optics contract


PETALING JAYA: PMW International Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, PMW Marketing Sdn Bhd, has secured an RM11.84mil contract from Global Technological Support Sdn Bhd to supply and deliver pre-stressed spun concrete poles for the Point of Presence Phase 2 (POP2) infrastructure and fibre optics hub project.

The agreement, which runs until Oct 31, 2026, covers the supply and delivery of concrete poles for infrastructure works under the POP2 project.

The POP2 project is part of Malaysia’s broadband expansion initiative aimed at strengthening the country’s fibre optic infrastructure and improving internet connectivity, particularly in rural and underserved areas.

Moreover, supported by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Comm-ission and Digital Ministry, the project has an allocation of about RM3.9bil to develop 3,693 POP sites nationwide.
