Malton partners Ricloud to build AI compute centres

PETALING JAYA: Malton Bhd has signed a memorandum of understanding with US-based AI cloud infrastructure provider Ricloud AI Inc to explore the development of artificial intelligence (AI) compute centres in Malaysia and jointly promote AI-related services across the region.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the property developer said the proposed collaboration will leverage Ricloud’s status as an Nvidia Cloud Partner or NCP and its expertise in AI infrastructure to attract global technology companies to establish AI compute centres in Malaysia before expanding into other South-East Asian markets.

Under the proposed collaboration, Ricloud will be responsible for securing investors, providing technical expertise, supplying AI servers and Nvidia GPU clusters, as well as participating in project financing where required.

Malton will assist investors in identifying suitable locations for the centre, obtaining regulatory approvals and permits, and act as the main contractor for the construction, testing and commissioning of the AI compute centres and related infrastructure.
