Vantris Energy to exit PN17 status on June 18

KUALA LUMPUR: Vantris Energy Bhd, formerly known as Sapura Energy Bhd, will no longer be classified as an affected listed issuer from June 18, 2026.

The global integrated energy services and solutions provider said in a statement its application for upliftment from Practice Note 17 of the Main Market listing requirements had been approved by Bursa Malaysia.

The company entered the PN17 list in May 2022 after falling into financial distress. Following the completion of its regularisation plan, it achieved the restructuring effective date on Sept 26, 2025.

In its latest quarter ended April 30, 2026, Vantris Energy reported a net profit of RM145.79mil, as compared to a net loss of RM477.96mil in the same quarter a year earlier. Quarterly revenue was RM645.21mil against RM801.37mil in the comparative period.

"The company and its subsidiaries have undertaken one of the most complex corporate restructuring exercises in the country, involving debt restructuring, capital reconstruction, new investments, creditor settlements, and the restoration of a healthier financial position," it said in a statement.

Group chief financial officer Ganesh Gunaratnam said the company's focus now is on sustaining operational momentum, improving earnings consistency across all segments, tightening cost control and rebuilding a stronger track record.

"Exiting PN17 gives us a stronger platform, but the responsibility now is to deliver consistently,” he said.

Group CEO Muhammad Zamri Jusoh added that the group will move forward with stronger resolve, healthier financial standing and a clear focus on long-term value creation.
