Entries are now open for the 2026 Effie Awards

PETALING JAYA: The 2026 Effie Awards Malaysia has officially opened its call for entries, with updated categories and a fresh theme, “Intelligence, Ideas, Impact”.

Agencies and brands across the sector are invited to submit their most successful campaigns for this year’s awards, which has long been a widely regarded benchmark of marketing effectiveness and strategic excellence.

According to the organisers, the theme this year reflects the evolving landscape of marketing, which is increasingly characterised by the convergence of data-driven insights and creative innovation to drive business results.

L V Chong, the awards’ organising chairperson, said the theme underscores the lifecycle of a truly effective campaign.

“In an era defined by rapid technological shifts, ‘intelligence’ represents our strategic foundation, ‘ideas’ are the creative spark that cuts through the noise, and ‘impact’ is the ultimate proof of success,” he added.

Introduced in 1968, the Effie is a global award that honours excellence in communication objectives, focusing on campaigns that are effective in the marketplace.

The Effie Awards Malaysia is organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As), and jointly supported by the Malaysian Advertisers Association (MAA), Media Specialists Association (MSA) and Malaysian Digital Association (MDA), in association with brand champion partner the Malaysia External Trade Development Corp (Matrade).

The 2026 programme is expected to spotlight the synergies between strategic data usage and high-concept creativity.

All entries for the 2026 edition of the awards will be evaluated by a panel of industry leaders, ensuring the global Effie standard of excellence is upheld.

Categories this year have been updated to represent the digital transformation, social commerce, and innovative consumer engagement strategies currently shaping the industry.

“Effectiveness is no longer just about the end result, but the clarity of the thinking and decision making from data-driven insights to the platform native execution for maximum impact,” said chief judge Milan Agnihotri.

“I am looking forward to seeing entries that demonstrate a sharp, logical thinking journey where strategic intelligence fuels a creative idea that ultimately moves the needle for the business.

“In today’s market, the work we celebrate must prove that it has created a genuine and significant impact on a brand’s bottom line.”

All marketing campaigns that ran in the Malaysian market within the past year are eligible to enter the 2026 Effie Awards Malaysia.

4As is urging agencies and brands to step forward to showcase works that have delivered meaningful business growth, cultural relevance, and measurable impact.

As part of the respected Effie Worldwide network, winners from Malaysia stand to gain industry recognition, while strengthening credentials, boosting team morale, and demonstrating proven business impact to clients, stakeholders, and future talent.
