PETRONAS Dagangan appoints Sazali Hamzah as chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas Dagangan Bhd has appointed Datuk Sazali Hamzah as non-independent and non-executive chairman, effective May 8, 2026.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said Sazali, 60, is currently executive vice-president of PETRONAS and chief executive officer of its downstream business.

He also holds various positions as chairman and director within the PETRONAS group.

He previously served as managing director and chief executive officer of Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd from May 8, 2014 to Dec 31, 2021.

Sazali also previously held roles including managing director and chief executive officer of PETRONAS Penapisan (Melaka) Sdn Bhd, senior general manager of Group Technology Solutions, and head of project management and delivery.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Lamar University in Texas, the United States.
