Merdeka 118 Mall set for August opening, to feature 300 retail outlets

118 Mall is poised to become the next vibrant addition to the Merdeka 118 precinct.

PETALING JAYA: PNB Merdeka Ventures Sdn Bhd says 118 Mall, the retail component of the Merdeka 118 precinct, is on track to open in August 2026.

Located at the base of the world’s second-tallest tower, the seven-storey mall will feature more than 300 retail outlets, with over 70% of its space already committed, the developer said in a statement.

It said the mall is projected to attract about 22 million visitors in its first year of operations.

“A rising global destination in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, 118 Mall is now in its final stages of transformation,” the company said, adding that the first wave of tenants has begun interior fit-outs.

The mall is also owned and managed by PNB Merdeka Ventures, a wholly owned subsidiary of Permodalan Nasional Bhd.

PNB Merdeka Ventures chief executive officer Datuk Izwan Hasli Mohd Ibrahim said the broader Merdeka 118 development is shaping up to be a vibrant, integrated precinct.

“At the heart of it, 118 Mall plays an important role in completing the precinct experience, connecting retail, hospitality, culture, community and landmark attractions into a destination that feels dynamic, seamless and uniquely Malaysian,” he noted.

The Merdeka 118 precinct comprises grade A office space, a The View at 118 observation deck, Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur hotel, the mall, and two residential towers known as Merdeka Residences.

It also includes the four-acre linear park, Merdeka Boulevard at 118, and is located within the broader historic Merdeka area, home to the National Heritage sites Stadium Merdeka and Stadium Negara.

“With over 70% of our retail space already committed, we are excited to contribute to the ‘Visit Malaysia 2026’ calendar by offering a world-class experience.”

Apart from its retail offerings, 118 Mall will feature the 80,000 sq ft Malaysian Artisan District, a curated space showcasing local flavours, craftsmanship and creative works.

At its centre will be the Makanizm Food Hall on Level 3, a 40,000 sq ft dining area.

Above the retail floors, The Atmosphere on Level 4 will serve as a 20,000 sq ft event space, capped by an 88-metre diameter glass dome roof structure.
