TDM unit picks GPQ for Terengganu deal

The proposed construction and development of KMI Chukai Medical Centre is expected to present positive long-term prospects for the group.

KUALA LUMPUR: TDM Bhd’s subsidiary, Kumpulan Medic Iman Sdn Bhd (KMI), has appointed GPQ Sdn Bhd as the developer for the RM142.8mil KMI Chukai Medical Centre in Kemaman, Terengganu.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said the project forms part of KMI’s strategic expansion plan to strengthen its healthcare footprint in the East Coast region of Peninsular Malaysia.

“GPQ’s familiarity with local regulatory requirements and development conditions is expected to facilitate efficient project execution,” Bernama reported.

“The actual commencement date and overall project completion timeline will be confirmed upon finalisation of the development programme and will be duly announced in due course,” said TDM, a plantation and healthcare group controlled by the Terengganu state government.

The proposed construction and development of KMI Chukai Medical Centre is expected to present positive long-term prospects for the group, subject to the successful finalisation of the definitive agreements and the requisite approvals.
