Cypark consortium secures RM1.96bil EPCC contract for Kenyir solar facility

KUALA LUMPUR Cypark Resources Bhd said its consortium with Sunview Group Bhd has received a RM1.96bil engineering procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract by TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd (TNB GENCO) for a 595MWac hydro hybrid floating solar (HHFS) photovoltaic plant integrated with battery energy storage system (BESS) at Kenyir Lake, Terengganu.

The Kenyir HHFS Project is a project by a consortium of Terengganu Incorporated Sdn Bhd and TNB GENCO.

"The Kenyir HHFS Project reinforces the strategic direction we have taken to position Cypark as a leading renewable energy platform and signals the next phase of our growth, supported by a strong pipeline of high-quality projects.

"It provides greater earnings visibility and strengthens our outlook as we continue to convert opportunities into secured projects. Beyond its commercial impact, it reflects our aspiration to be more than just a company by contributing meaningfully to nation building, strengthening Malaysia’s energy security and accelerating its low-carbon transition.

"Moving forward, our focus remains on disciplined execution and delivering sustainable value to all stakeholders, while supporting Malaysia’s transition towards a low-carbon future," said Cypark group managing director Datuk Ami Moris in a statement.

The Kenyir HHFS Project represents one of the largest renewable energy infrastructure developments in Malaysia to date.

Upon completion in 2028, the Kenyir HHFS Project is set to be the largest floating solar photovoltaic development in Southeast Asia, marking a major milestone for the region and reinforcing Malaysia’s leadership in large-scale clean energy infrastructure.
