Vantris profit up to RM3.7bil after restructuring

PETALING JAYA: Vantris Energy Bhd, formerly known as Sapura Energy Bhd, has recorded extraordinary gains in net profit for its financial year ended Jan 31, 2026 (FY26).

It recorded a net profit of RM3.7bil, compared with RM189.53mil recorded in FY25, mainly due to the one-off recognition of over RM4bil in debt forgiveness arising from a restructuring exercise.

The company said its full-year operational earnings in FY26 were impacted by a single challenging project in Angola earlier in the year, while the broader portfolio remained stable.

Revenue for FY26 fell to RM3.74bil from RM4.7bil in FY25.

Vantris group chief executive officer Muhammad Zamri Jusoh said: “FY26 marked an inflection point for us.

“The successful completion of our financial restructuring has strengthened our balance sheet and significantly reduced our debt, positioning us on a firmer footing as we enter FY27.

“Our focus now turns squarely to disciplined execution, as we address the substantial operational priorities ahead.”
