AWC unit secures contract to extend hospital support services

PETALING JAYA: AWC Bhd has bagged a RM26.1mil contract from the Health Ministry (MoH) to continue providing hospital support services at Hospital Shah Alam in Selangor.

In a bourse filing, the group said its subsidiary, AWC Services Sdn Bhd (AWSB), accepted the letter of award on the same day. The contract runs for one year from Jan 1 to Dec 31, 2026, and represents a continuation of services that AWSB has been providing at the hospital since January 2021.

AWC said the contract is part of its core maintenance and facilities management business, with risks limited to normal operational factors typical of such projects.

The group expects the contract to contribute positively to its earnings and net assets over the duration of the agreement, without highlighting any material impact on its financial position.

AWC also noted that none of its directors, major shareholders or persons connected to them have any direct or indirect interest in the contract.

The board said the award is in the ordinary course of business and is in the best interest of the company.
