Shangri-La Malaysia MD Phong stepping down 


KUALA LUMPUR: Shangri-La Hotels (M) Bhd’s managing director Christopher Phong will resign from his position effective from May 31.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said the board would like to record its sincere thanks and appreciation to Phong for his contribution to the group and wishes him well for the future.

“The company is working towards implementing a smooth and orderly leadership succession,” it said.

Phong was appointed managing director on March 1, 2024.

He was previously the head of investment and asset management of Shangri-La Asia Ltd, where his responsibilities included overseeing the business operations and financial performances of Shangri-La Malaysia’s group of hotels. — Bernama
