Trading ideas: YTL Corp, T7 Global, Well Chip, I-Bhd


KUALA LUMPUR: Stocks to watch today include T7 Global Bhd, YTL Corp Bhd, Well Chip Group Bhd and I-Bhd on the back of their latest news.

T7 Global’s subsidiary, T7 Intelligent Resources Sdn Bhd, has been appointed a PETRONAS panel contractor for third-party professional and support services for the PETRONAS group of companies.

YTL Corp’s unit YTL Developments (UK) has secured a RM200mil naming rights deal with UK insurer Aviva for its 20,000-capacity Bristol arena, part of the Brabazon new town redevelopment expected to open in late 2028 and contribute an estimated £1bil to the local economy over its first decade.

For the fourth quarter ended June 30, 2025, Well Chip’s net profit jumped 61.33% to RM24.26mil from RM15.03mil a year earlier, as revenue rose 32.7% to RM73.88mil, driven mainly by a 76.1% surge in pawnbroking income.

For the full financial year, net profit increased to RM86.15mil from RM49.98mil in FY24 on higher revenue of RM270.2mil versus RM222.13mil previously, with the board proposing a final dividend of 5.1 sen per share.

I-Bhd’s net profit for the fourth quarter rose to RM10.83mil from RM6.73mil a year earlier, as revenue increased to RM117.02mil from RM64.1mil.

For the full year, its net profit climbed to RM55.74mil from RM29.18mil in FY24, while revenue grew to RM322.65mil from RM222.17mil previously.

Meanwhile, US stocks ended higher on Friday, with the S&P 500 climbing 0.69% to 6,909.51 points.

The Nasdaq rose 0.90% to 22,886.07 points, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.47% to 49,625.97 points.
