KUALA LUMPUR: Greentronics Technology Bhd’s fleet management-focused subsidiary, Mpire Mobility Sdn Bhd, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Thai Paiboon Insurance Public Co Ltd (TPB) to enter Thailand’s digital insurance industry.

In a statement yesterday, Greentronics said the deal aimed to capitalise on rising cross-border travel between the two countries.

“Together, Mpire Mobility and TPB plan to provide digital insurance services for Malaysian motorists entering Thailand,” it said, adding that TPB held the largest general insurance portfolio for Malaysian vehicles entering southern Thailand.

Greentronics said the partnership would allow TPB’s Malaysian customers to access Mpire Mobility’s one-stop automotive service, repair and maintenance platform, which connects vehicle owners directly to authorised workshops for servicing and repairs.

It said customers would be able to use Mpire Mobility’s Jom MyServis mobile application to request roadside assistance and logistical support, including arrangements to return vehicles to Malaysia for repairs and claims.

“TPB will provide insurance-related services for Malaysian motorists via Mpire Mobility’s digital platform, alleviating concerns related to language barriers, communication challenges, and the complexity of the claims process,” it said.

Greentronics executive chairman Datuk Billy Goh Soo Wee said the new partnership with TPB represented another breakthrough for the group.

“Through our entry into Thailand’s digital insurance industry, we will continue to expand the Mpire Mobility business while capitalising on rising Malaysia-Thailand cross-border travel,” he said.

He said that since Mpire Mobility’s inception in 2024, the platform has equipped more than 1,000 vehicles with telematics and has recorded over 10,000 end users within its ecosystem.

Meanwhile, TPB managing director Eugene Foong said the partnership reflected the insurer’s continued commitment to enhancing customer protection through digital innovation and practical cross-border solutions.

“By collaborating with Mpire Mobility, we can extend our insurance services beyond national boundaries, providing Malaysian motorists travelling in Thailand with greater clarity, confidence, and support in the event of an accident,” he said.

Integrating digital platforms and coordinating after-sales processes would enable the company to streamline claims handling and deliver seamless customer experience, he added. — Bernama
