EcoFirst appoints two new independent non-executive directors


KUALA LUMPUR: Ecofirst Consolidated Bhd has appointed Yip Kit Weng and Lee King Loon as independent non-executive directors, effective Jan 19, 2026.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said Yip, 55, brings nearly three decades of experience in equity fundraising, corporate finance and advisory, corporate banking, private debt securities issuances and private equity transactions.

He is a chartered accountant and holds professional qualifications with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, CPA Australia, the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia and the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia.

Yip holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Financing and Accounting from the University of Western Australia.

He currently serves as president of CPA Australia’s Malaysia Divisional Council and sits on the council of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants following his appointment by the Minister of Finance.

Meanwhile, Lee, 55, is a chartered accountant and a certified practising accountant with CPA Australia, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia.

He also holds a Capital Markets Services Representative’s Licence for corporate finance issued by the Securities Commission Malaysia.

Lee previously served as an independent non-executive director of CN Asia Corporation Bhd from June 2016 to January 2021 and Central Global Bhd from February 2021 to December 2022.
