Lianson Fleet unit completes disposal of vessel for RM40.65mil

KUALA LUMPUR: Lianson Fleet Group Bhd said its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary, Icon Piai 1 (L) Inc, has completed the disposal of the Yinson Hermes, an offshore tug and supply ship, for US$10mil (RM40.65mil) cash as part of efforts to modernise and replace its fleet in line with the evolving market demands of the oil and gas industry.

Additionally, the disposal also aligns with Lianson Fleet's rebranding and long-term strategy to diversify from being a pure-play offshore support vessel (OSV) player into other vessel asset classes, supporting its pivot towards new markets and strengthening its long-term growth and operational flexibility, it said in a stock exchange filing.

"The net proceeds from the vessel disposal will be utilised for general corporate purposes and to support Lianson Fleet’s future growth and strategic initiatives," it said.

Lianson Fleet said the vessel is a Malaysian-flagged DP-1 Anchor Handling Tug & Supply (AHTS) built in 2015 with a deadweight tonnage of 1,300 tonnes.

The purchaser of the vessel is a company incorporated in the United Arab Emirates, which is unrelated to Lianson Fleet.
