KUALA LUMPUR: Stronger in-store sales and new outlet openings helped to lift MyNews Holdings Bhd's performance in the fourth quarter ended Oct 31, 2025, despite the increase in selling and distribution expenses.
The convenience store chain said its total store count grew by 64 outlets to a tally of 683 as at end-October 2025.
Quarterly revenue was bolstered to RM229.66mil as compared to RM208.44mil in the year-ago quarter, while net profit jumped to RM5.27mil from RM3.76mil in the comparative quarter.
Earnings per share rose to 0.7 sen from 0.5 sen previously.
Over the entire financial year, MyNews' net profit leapt to RM17.84mil from RM9.38mil in FY24, while revenue rose to RM879.04mil from RM804.2mil in the previous year.
According to the company's filing with Bursa Malaysia, selling and distribution expenses rose 12.6% to RM47.9mil during the quarter, partly owing to higher minimum wages, expansion of the sales and service tax scope and the enlarged store network.
Other expenses recorded a more modest increase of RM790,000 or 3.7% to RM22.29mil, mainly due to higher depreciation charges related to right-of-use assets and property, plant and equipment.
