Orkim shares climb with institutional investors taking substantial stake


KUALA LUMPUR: Shares of oil and gas shipping company Orkim Bhd rose in early trade after three institutional investors emerged as substantial shareholders following its recent listing.

At 10.08 am, the counter gained 9.5 sen to RM1.05, with 14.76 million shares traded.

Orkim recently announced that the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (KWAP), and Prudential plc have become its institutional investors following its initial public offering (IPO).

State-owned private equity firm Ekuiti Nasional Bhd (Ekuinas) previously wholly owned Orkim. It was listed on Bursa Malaysia’s Main Market on Dec 9, 2025, with Ekuinas retaining a 60 per cent stake post-listing. - Bernama
