Kitacon secures RM61mil job to build factories

PETALING JAYA: Kumpulan Kitacon Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Kitacon Sdn Bhd, has accepted RM60.81mil letter of award from Sime Darby Property (Lagong) Sdn Bhd for main building works at Taman Perdagangan Elmina in Rawang, Selangor.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Kumpulan Kitacon said the contract covers the construction and completion of 22 units of two-storey semi-detached factories with mezzanine (Type B1), another 22 units of similar factories (Type B2), three Tenaga Nasional Bhd substations, as well as ancillary and infrastructure works.

Each block includes a refuse chamber and an electric vehicle charging bay.

The project is scheduled to begin on Nov 27, 2025, and will run for 24 months.

Kumpulan Kitacon said the contract will not affect its share capital or shareholding structure, but is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and net assets per share from the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025, onwards.
