OCK to expand into telecoms sector in Laos

OCK said it is kick-starting new towers in Laos with an initial rollout of 30 telecommunication tower sites.

PETALING JAYA: OCK Group Bhd has signed a sale and purchase agreement with Edotco Group to acquire 100% of the latter’s Laos operations.

Through the investment, OCK said the group enlarges its tower portfolio and positions itself to capture the growing demand for digital and telecommunications infrastructure, driven by the accelerating adoption of 5G networks in the country.

“In addition, OCK is kick-starting new towers in Laos with an initial rollout of 30 telecommunication tower sites, marking a strategic step in expanding our regional presence and supporting the country’s growing demand for network infrastructure,” the company said in a statement.

OCK Group managing director Datuk Sam Ooi Chin Khoon said the acquisition represents an important milestone in OCK’s regional growth.
