KUALA LUMPUR: Nextgreen Global Bhd
(NGGB), through its wholly-owned unit Nextgreen Fertilizer Sdn Bhd (NGF), has signed three agreements with the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (Mardi), Padi Global Sdn Bhd and DOA Integrated Farming Sdn Bhd.
In a statement, NGGB said NGF signed a memorandum of agreement with Mardi to evaluate the NexBooster fertiliser for rice cultivation in Malaysia.
The collaboration aims to obtain scientific validation for NexBooster, which has completed in-house trials by NGGB’s R&D team.
NGGB said the research will assess NexBooster across different growth stages and reduced fertiliser levels, measuring soil microbes, plant growth, yield and grain output, as well as its economic viability under local conditions.
The work supports efforts to qualify NexBooster for the federal government’s incentive scheme for paddy farmers.
NGF also signed an offtake and distribution agreement with Padi Global for the annual supply of up to 10,000 tonnes of NexBooster and up to 5,000 tonnes of NexCompost.
Padi Global will serve as NGF’s regional distributor, focusing on paddy cultivation areas in northern region, namely Kedah, Perlis, Perak, and Penang.
The third agreement saw NGF sign an offtake and distribution deal with DOA for the annual supply of up to 15,000 tonnes of NexCompost and 5,000 tonnes of NexBooster, to be used in durian and oil palm plantations in Raub, Pahang.
NGGB managing director Datuk Lim Thiam Huat said NexCompost and NexBooster are bio-organic fertilisers produced from empty fruit bunches and recovered pulp residues from the paper manufacturing process.
“It is produced through advanced bioconversion technology at our Green Technology Park (GTP), where the facility has an annual capacity of 60,000 tonnes.
“These collaborations strengthen our holistic approach to sustainable industrial development by integrating research, innovation, and commercialisation to drive Malaysia’s low-carbon and circular economy goals. We are extremely proud to support farmers nationwide with our locally produced, sustainable bio-fertiliser solutions,” he said.
