Keyfield reports lower 3Q25 earnings

PETALING JAYA: Keyfield International Bhd’s net profit for the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2025 (3Q25) dropped to RM41.34mil from RM81.12mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue dropped to RM132.35mil from RM216.79mil a year earlier.

Meanwhile, for the nine-month period ended Sept 30, 2025, Keyfield’s net profit plunged to RM128.38mil from RM181.45mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue declined to RM351.07mil from RM522.15mil previously.

Keyfield declared a third interim dividend of 2 sen per ordinary share, representing payout of approximately 39% of 3Q25 profit after tax and minority interests.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company, which is involved in the vessel chartering business, said its financial results have been affected by softer demand conditions in the local offshore oil and gas industry, for which the majority of its vessels are currently serving.

“As offshore activities wind down towards the seasonal South China Sea monsoon period, we expect lower utilisation rates for the remainder of the year as well as the beginning of next year, before the next chartering cycle commences, typically around March-April of each year.”
