KUALA LUMPUR: AWC Bhd
’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Ambang Wira Sdn Bhd (AWSB), has secured a one-year extension to its expiring 10-year government concession for building support services.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the Ministry of Works (KKR) issued a letter dated Nov 4, 2025 confirming that the concession, originally set to end on Dec 31, 2025, will be extended from Jan 1, 2026 to Dec 31, 2026.
KKR also enclosed a fair copy of the interim agreement relating to the privatisation agreement for building support services in the Southern Zone and Sarawak Zone. The agreement will take effect once signed by both AWSB and the Government.
“While the interim agreement does not stipulate a specific contract sum, the estimated value of works under the one-year extension is approximately RM63.7mil, based on the prevailing rates and scope of services under the existing concession,” AWC said.
The Concession Agreement involves the management, maintenance, and upkeep of Federal Government buildings across the southern zone (covering Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, and Johor) and the Sarawak Zone. These services have historically also included the critical asset refurbishment programme (CARP) under the existing concession framework.
“We are certainly delighted to secure the 1-year extension for the concession agreement, which reflects our proven delivery and strong track record as the incumbent. We also sincerely appreciate the trust and confidence placed in us by KKR.
“Having managed the concession since 1998, the group remains confident in our capabilities and we will continue delivering high-quality services to support the Government’s facilities management needs. At the same time, we are actively preparing and working closely on the tender for the new concession,” group chief executive officer/president Datuk Ahmad Kabeer Mohamed Nagoor said in a statement.
