Ringgit appreciates to strongest level since Oct 2024


KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit extended its uptrend to close higher against the US dollar today, lifted by improved risk appetite and growing optimism over a possible resolution to the United States’ (US) government shutdown.

At 6 pm, the ringgit appreciated by 0.4 per cent to 4.1555/1635 against the US dollar from Friday’s close of 4.1735/1775, marking its strongest level in 13 months, last seen at 4.1625 on Oct 2, 2024.
