SCIB wins revised RM172.4mil PR1MA project in Kota Bharu


PETALING JAYA: Sarawak Consolidated Industries Bhd's (SCIB) wholly-owned subsidiary, SCIB Industrialised Building System Sdn Bhd (SIBS) has accepted a new revised contract from the 1Malaysia People's Housing Programme (PR1MA) to build a housing project in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

The project, worth RM172.4mil, will see SIBS become the main contractor for the development of 632 houses.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, SCIB noted the project will be delivered over a 36-month construction period and will involve the full spectrum of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services.

“We are pleased to reaffirm our role in this key national housing initiative through the revised award. Our continued involvement in PR1MA underscores our capabilities in delivering large-scale residential projects that support government aspirations for affordable housing.

“As we move forward, SCIB will continue to explore more opportunities and carefully consider all options, always with the aim of choosing what best serves the Company and its stakeholders. We are currently seeking professional advice and will be presenting this revised contract for the Board’s review and approval,” executive chairman Datuk Chong Loong Men said in a statement.
