Texchem eyes growth in semiconductor and medical industries


PETALING JAYA: Texchem Resources Bhd expects its polymer engineering business to benefit from the continued growth in the semiconductor/AI supply chain and medical/life sciences industries.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the company said, quoting a Ministry of Finance report on Oct 10, the manufacturing sector is expected to expand by 3.8% and services sector will grow 5.1% in second half of 2025, which is anticipated to positively impact its core businesses namely polymer engineering, industrial and restaurant divisions.

It added that in the fourth quarter, the industrial division will remain focused on high-value products, such as medical, semiconductor and sustainable products while the food division will further focus on minimising losses by diversifying production sites and product portfolio.

The company added that its restaurant division will focus on brand growth strategies to drive revenue.

In the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2025, Texchem posted a higher net profit of RM1.93mil versus RM1.11mil a year ago while revenue dipped to RM275.65mil from RM280.79mil dragged by weaker sales from its industrial, polymer engineering and food divisions.

For the nine-month period just ended, its net profit surged to RM4.08mil from RM749,000 a year ago while revenue declined to RM842.42mil from RM851.19mil.
