SEREMBAN: Premium grocers Cold Storage will be the main anchor at Sendayan Merchant Square in Bandar Sri Sendayan (BSS) near here, following the signing of a tenancy agreement between GCH Retail Sdn Bhd and Matrix Concepts Holdings Bhd.

The multinational supermarket chain will occupy 24,000sq ft of the 105,000sq ft of net lettable area in the commercial hub that is targeted for completion by the end of next year.

Matrix Concepts co-chief executive officer of the property development division Chai Keng Wai said Cold Storage’s arrival at BSS represents more than a retail addition as it signifies the township’s coming of age as a self-sustaining destination for modern living.

“Sendayan Merchant Square is envisioned as more than just a commercial space as it is the lifestyle heartbeat of BSS.

“Anchoring this hub with a trusted household name like Cold Storage ensures not only convenience but also elevates the overall retail experience for our growing community,” Chai said in his speech at the signing ceremony.

Cold Storage, he said, was a trusted household name synonymous with freshness, quality and service excellence.

Also present at the signing ceremony were state Local Government, Housing and Transport Committee chairman J. Arul Kumar, Matrix Concepts group executive director Kelvin Lee, GCH Retail Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Gary Yap and chief executive officer Tiger Cheah.

Set across 2.5ha, Sendayan Merchant Square stands out with its “modular village” concept, a design that promotes exploration, interaction, and inclusivity.

The hub will offer a lively mix of retail, dining, and leisure experiences supported by outdoor play areas and an event plaza.

Chai said the partnership reaffirmed Matrix Concepts’ commitment to building self-sustaining, well-connected, and future-ready townships.
