Salcon wins double honours including best contractor at MWA event

Notable job: Salcon’s design and build dewatered residual disposal system for Langat 2 (package 3) water treatment plant.

PETALING JAYA: Salcon Engineering Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Salcon Bhd (Salcon) has been honoured with two awards at the Malaysia Water Association (MWA) Annual Dinner & Awards Night 2025 that was jointly organised by MWA and Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd on Oct 14.

In a statement, the company said Salcon Engineering was honoured the “Best Contractor for Project Value More than RM100mil” through the Langat 2 Package 2A Project (construction and completion of 1,130 million litres per day Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant, Phase 1).

The project was undertaken through a joint venture between Salcon Engineering, MMC Corp Bhd and Ahmad Zaki Sdn Bhd.

Salcon Engineering also secured the “Best Contractor for Construction of Water Treatment Plant’s Residual Management System through Langat 2 Package 3 project (design and build of Residual Disposal System for the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant).

“The Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant Phase 1 project (LRAL2-P1) is one of Malaysia’s flagship infrastructure projects, designed to enhance water security and supply reliability for Klang Valley by treating and producing 1,130 million litres per day of potable water.

“Meanwhile, Langat 2 Package 3 project complements the operation of LRAL2-P1 in the residual management system by integrating advanced engineering for automated conveyance systems and environmentally responsible disposal of treatment residual.”

Salcon said this was in line with its commitment to environmental, social and governance principles and sustainable water management.

“Earlier this year Salcon secured several new water and wastewater contracts, further strengthening its position as a trusted partner in Malaysia’s infrastructure sector.

“Building on a long track record in water and wastewater, Salcon continues to combine technical excellence and strategic partnerships to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions that support the nation’s water security and environmental objectives,” it added.
