PETALING JAYA: Bursa Carbon Exchange (BCX) and Sarawak’ Natural Resources and Environment Board (NREB) have joined hands to explore the development of the Sarawak Carbon Registry.
With the carbon registry, Sarawak will be well-positioned to establish a credible and transparent carbon market ecosystem, according to Sarawak controller of environmental quality Datu Jack anak Liam.
To kickstart the two-year collaboration, BCX – a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bursa Malaysia Bhd
– and NREB signed a memorandum of collaboration during the NREB Excellence and Service Awards Night 2025 on Oct 8.
Under the collaboration, both parties will review the purposes and understand the objectives of the Sarawak Carbon Registry and organise capacity building programmes and technical meetings with relevant experts.
