VS Industry MD is now a major shareholder


PETALING JAYA: VS Industry Bhd’s managing director Datuk Gan Sem Yam has emerged as a substantial shareholder after acquiring 29 million shares through an off-market deal.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the integrated electronics manufacturing services provider said the 29 million shares were acquired yesterday at 51.1 sen apiece, valuing the transaction at about RM14.82mil.

The purchase lifted Gan’s direct stake to 192.08 million shares, or 4.98%. His indirect interest remains at 26.21 million shares, or 0.68%.

VS Industry traded unchanged at 60 sen, with 149.27 million shares changing hands. VS Industry posted a lower net profit of RM33.04mil in the fourth quarter ended July 31, 2025, compared with RM126.61mil in the same quarter a year ago.

Group revenue also declined to RM858.8mil, down 29.2%, or RM354.5mil, from RM1.21bil in the corresponding quarter last year.
