Gamuda JV bags RM1.13bil Sarawak highway contract

KUALA LUMPUR: Gamuda Bhd’s 30%-owned associate company, Naim Gamuda (NAGA) JV Sdn Bhd (NAGA), has secured a RM1.13bil contract from the Regional Corridor Development Authority (Recoda) for the development of the Northern Coastal Highway in Sarawak.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Gamuda said NAGA — in which Naim Engineering Sdn Bhd holds 70% and Gamuda 30% — accepted the award on Aug 25, 2025.

The contract, for the Limbang Work Package Section 1, covers the construction of about 14.7km of four-lane dual carriageway in Limbang, including bridges, a flyover, earthworks and related works.

The project is expected to be completed within 48 months from the date of site possession.

"The project will strengthen the bilateral relationship in terms of trade and investment between Sarawak, Sabah and Brunei, and it shall be the catalyst for socio-economic development in the northern region of Sarawak.

"It is expected to contribute positively to the revenue and earnings of Gamuda for the financial year ending July 31, 2026, onwards until the completion of the project," it said.
