MPKJ appoints Mah Sing as lead developer

Mah Sing said the project will involve 11 developers.

KUALA LUMPUR: Mah Sing Group Bhd has been appointed by Majlis Perbandaran Kajang (MPKj) as the lead developer to construct a new RM52.5mil flyover at the intersection of Jalan Tasik Kesuma and Jalan Semenyih, Bandar Tasik Kesuma.

In a statement, Mah Sing said the project will involve 11 developers, and it is expected to commence construction in early 2026, with completion targeted for early 2028.

“The flyover will be handed over and owned by MPKj upon completion,” it said.

Mah Sing said that the flyover, measuring approximately three kilometres in length, will be supported by the upgrading of existing roads and junctions along Jalan Semenyih.

“These enhancements are designed to cater to higher traffic volumes, improve road safety and provide a smoother driving experience for road users,” it said.

Mah Sing group chief executive officer and executive director Datuk Voon Tin Yow said the company is honoured to have been appointed by MPKj as the lead developer for the important infrastructure project and is committed to delivering the design and coordinating with the relevant parties to ensure smooth execution.

“We believe this initiative will contribute positively to the community and the surrounding areas.

“Upon completion, the improved connectivity will facilitate better traffic dispersal, reducing travel times for commuters and enhancing accessibility for residents, businesses, and visitors to the area.

“In addition to alleviating current traffic challenges,” he said.

Meanwhile, MPKj president Nazli Md Taib said he appreciates Mah Sing’s commitment to advancing the project and extends thanks to all participating developers for their cooperation and willingness to share costs amongst the 11 parties involved.

“This spirit of collaboration reflects the strong partnership between local authorities and the development community in delivering infrastructure that benefits the public,” he said.

Furthermore, through its subsidiaries Mestika Bistari Sdn Bhd, Grand Prestige Development Sdn Bhd, and Elite Park Development Sdn Bhd, Mah Sing led the signing ceremony for the major infrastructure initiative held at MPKj’s headquarters yesterday.

Voon represented Mah Sing at the signing ceremony, which was witnessed by Nazli, MPKj deputy president Mohd Fareez Mohd Ariss @ Mohd Hatta, and MPKj engineering department director Fadilah Razalli.

The location of the new flyover is also strategically significant for Mah Sing, as it is situated close to M Legasi, the group’s freehold residential township in Semenyih. — Bernama
