Azam Jaya bags RM121mil airport contract


PETALING JAYA: The Transport Ministry has awarded Azam Jaya Bhd a contract worth RM120.92mil to upgrade the Tawau Airport in Sabah.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Azam Jaya said its wholly-owned subsidiary, Pembinaan Azam Jaya Sdn Bhd, had on Aug 6 accepted and signed the letter of award.

The contract is for a period of 156 weeks.

It will commence from Aug 22, 2025 to Aug 21, 2028.

“Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets per share of Azam Jaya for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025 and onwards until the completion of the contract.”

The Azam Jaya stock remained unchanged yesterday at RM1.06 per share, valuing the company at RM530mil.
