Samaiden acquires land in Perak for RM45.5mil

PETALING JAYA: Samaiden Group Bhd is proposing to acquire two parcels of agricultural land in Teluk Intan, Perak, measuring approximately 185.57 hectares from Kelapa Sawit (Teluk Anson) Sdn Bhd for RM45.5mil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the renewable energy solutions provider said the proposed acquisition will see the emergence of the company as owners of the land, on which solar farms will be developed.

“The properties, which have been earmarked by the group for the development of a solar farm, is situated in Teluk Intan where the annual solar thermal sunlight is high and is suitable for solar farm projects.

“It is strategically located in close proximity to an existing high-voltage substation, significantly reducing the complexity and cost of grid interconnection, in turn enhancing solar projects feasibility.”

Samaiden said the properties may be used, developed, leased or otherwise used by the group for upcoming solar projects.

“As Samaiden continues to team up with other solar developers for utility scale solar programmes, there is an opportunity to provide engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning work for these developers and to also lease out land owned by Samaiden for the solar farm projects owned by the developers, thereby opening up an additional source of income stream for the group.”
