Beijing: China firmly opposes any countries reaching trade agreements with the United States that would sacrifice Chinese interests in exchange for tariff relief, according to a statement from the Commerce Ministry.

“If such a situation occurs, China will not accept it and will take resolute countermeasures to safeguard its legitimate rights and interests,” an unidentified spokesperson was cited saying last Saturday night in response to a media query about recent US trade talks with other nations.
