Samaiden wins RM45mil solar EPCC contract

The contract is for a 9.99 megawatt alternating current large-scale solar photovoltaic power plant in Padang Cina, Kulim, Kedah.

KUALA LUMPUR: Samaiden Group Bhd’s wholly owned subsidiary, Samaiden Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM45mil engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract from PAXS Renewables Sdn Bhd.

The contract is for a 9.99 megawatt alternating current (MWac) large-scale solar photovoltaic power plant in Padang Cina, Kulim, Kedah, the group said in a statement. Samaiden confirmed it has accepted a letter of award (LoA) from PAXS Renewables.

The contract covers the full scope of design, engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning of the facility. The group said the project was approved by the Energy Commission in December 2024 under the large-scale solar five programme, reflecting Samaiden’s expanding presence in Malaysia’s utility-scale solar segment.

“Works will commence immediately from the LoA signing date of May 19, 2025, with on-site activities to begin following the issuance of a formal notice to proceed, subject to the fulfilment of all conditions precedent. — Bernama
