KUALA LUMPUR: Sapura Energy Bhd has assured its clients, partners, and stakeholders that it is not involved in the investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), despite recent news reports suggesting a connection to the company.
The news reports linked the investigation to Sapura Energy shares, specifically regarding the merger between SapuraKencana Petroleum Bhd and Sapuracrest Petroleum Bhd.
“Sapura Energy wishes to assure our clients, partners and stakeholders that our operations and financial activities, including access to our bank accounts, remain unaffected and continue as normal,” the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
Sapura Energy reiterated its commitment to cooperating fully with the MACC and providing any further assistance required by the authorities.
“Sapura Energy has a strict anti-bribery and anti-corruption policy and has implemented internal controls and procedures to effectively manage and mitigate such risks.
“As a publicly listed company, we are dedicated to maintaining high standards of corporate governance, transparency, and integrity across all levels of the organisation,” it said.
