KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis Bhd is planning to expand its Maxis Home Solar solution to households across peninsular Malaysia following positive feedback from early adopters in the Klang Valley.

The solution is being expanded across Peninsular Malaysia starting May 2025 and will be available to both Maxis and non-Maxis customers by the end of this year.

Its chief people and transformation officer, Patrick Er, said the company aims to bring green energy adoption into the mainstream, backed by proven experience in service, sales and customer satisfaction spanning 30 years in the subscription business.

"We saw the opportunity because we have 12 million customers, including 780,000 broadband home customers who are being served by us today.

"Many of them have landed homes, and we feel that we can certainly go there and provide this additional service to value-add to their homes," he said at the media briefing for Maxis Home Solar here today.

In a separate statement, Maxis said customers could enjoy up to 25 per cent savings on their electricity bills from day one with long-term protection against rising energy costs.

"A customised solar solution is proposed based on home size and electricity usage with flexible payment options," it said.

Maxis added that by equipping households with the solution, the company will help address rising energy demand and emissions and support the nation's sustainability agenda toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. - Bernama
