KUALA LUMPUR: Citi Malaysia has launched the Citi Transaction Services Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CTSM Penang) LEED-Gold certified new office in Sunshine Tower at Sunshine Central, Air Itam, Penang.

Over 1,000 employees have relocated to the new workspace, which embodies the franchise’s focus on innovation and sustainability.

This strategic expansion further strengthens Citi’s long-standing presence and ongoing commitment to Malaysia.

“Our new office in Sunshine Tower is a critical solution centre for Citi, handling more than 100 million transactions annually and supports complex banking processes for more than 50 countries. This office launch reaffirms Citi’s commitment to the growth of the financial landscape in Penang,” Citi Asia South Cluster and Banking Head Amol Gupte said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Citi Malaysia CEO Vikram Singh said that Penang had always been a strategic location for Citi, and the new office underscored the organisation’s strong commitment to the country.

“The facility not only provides a state-of-the-art environment for our employees but also strengthens our capabilities to serve clients both locally and globally.”

Citi has been a leader in transaction processing in Malaysia since it set up the Citi Solutions Centre (CSC) in Penang in 1993, followed by a second centre in Kuala Lumpur in 2007. Both centres are part of Citi’s global network and support the company’s growth by providing high-quality processing services.
