Wut Thanittiraporn appointed new president and CEO of CIMB Thai

KUALA LUMPUR: CIMB Group Holdings Bhd has appointed Wut Thanittiraporn as president and CEO of CIMB Thai Bank, effective April 21, 2025.

The new appointment comes as incumbent CEO Paul Wong Chee Kin completes his four-year secondment to Thailand. He will take on the role of advisor to the new CEO in the interim period, and rejoin the group in June 2025.

"I am pleased to welcome Wut as President and CEO of CIMB Thai. We strongly believe that Wut’s appointment aligns well with our Forward30 aspirations, given his proven track record in business transformation and turnaround capabilities as well as deep familiarity with the Thai market," said CIMB Group CEO Novan Amirudin in a statement.

Wut joined the bank in February 2014 as head of investment bank and was appointed to head of corporate

banking in 2017.

In September 2019, he also assumed leadership of the Transaction Banking portfolio, as part of CIMB Thai’s broader leadership and talent development efforts.

Wut’s experience includes serving as executive vice-president, head of capital markets, in Standard Chartered Bank Thailand prior to joining CIMB Thai.
