Mida facilitates solar PV tie-up


KUALA LUMPUR: Solarvest Holdings Bhd, HSS Engineering Sdn Bhd, and Shizen Malaysia Sdn Bhd have formed a renewable energy (RE) partnership to undertake a 29.99MW, alternating current solar photovoltaic or PV facility in Gurun, Kedah with an investment of RM142mil.

They have formed SM01 Sdn Bhd, under the corporate green power programme initiative, wherein Shizen Malaysia will own a 49% stake, Solarvest Asset Management Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Solarvest Holdings (33%), and HSS Engineering Sdn Bhd (18%).

The partnership, which was announced yesterday at Expo 2025 Osaka, Japan, was facilitated by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) under the government’s green investment initiative.

Mida deputy chief executive officer of investment promotion and facilitation Sivasuriyamoorthy Sundara Raja said the partnership exemplified Malaysia’s commitment to sustainable development and its position as a prime destination for green investments in the region. — Bernama
