PETALING JAYA: Malakoff Corp Bhd’s unit, Malakoff Radiance Sdn Bhd (MRSB), has signed a solar power purchase agreement with Masjid Saidina Umar Al-Khattab (MSUA) in Bukit Damansara for the development of a 203 kilowatt-peak building-integrated photovoltaic carport solar system.

As the registered solar photovoltaic investor, MRSB is working with MSUA to provide sustainable energy solutions.

This project will help MSUA cut electricity costs by using clean energy. It also marks MRSB’s first community-based solar project, opening the door for more similar initiatives in the future. In a statement, Malakoff said the solar project was completed within a four-month timeline under a zero capital expenditure scheme.

Malakoff’s managing director and group chief executive officer, Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, expressed enthusiasm for the company’s entry into community-focused renewable energy initiatives.
