PETALING JAYA: Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Regner Sdn Bhd (Regner Consulting) to strengthen corporate sustainability in Malaysia.
In a statement, the parties said the strategic partnership aims to bridge the gap between academic insight and industry execution, enabling small and medium enterprise and corporations to implement environmental, social and governance (ESG) and sustainability frameworks with precision, compliance, and efficiency.
Comprehensive coverage
“Key areas of collaboration include ESG and sustainability reporting aligned with global standards, carbon footprint computation and reduction strategies, Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit compliance advisory, product green label certification support, employee management strategies and corporate governance advisory.
“By combining TAR UMT’s evidence-based research with Regner Consulting’s award-winning expertise, the partnership ensures that businesses not only meet regulatory expectations but also embed sustainability and good governance into their operational DNA.”
With global ESG assets projected to reach US$40 trillion by 2030 and 85% of Asia-Pacific chief executives investing in climate-friendly initiatives last year, the parties said businesses faced mounting pressure to integrate sustainability into their core operations.
Regner Consulting managing director Renee Ho said ESG should not be an “expensive, stressful game”.
“Our approach ensures that businesses integrate sustainability seamlessly into their existing workflows, avoiding unnecessary duplication or complexity.”
Unlike generic ESG solutions that operate in isolation, Ho said Regner Consulting takes a holistic approach, guiding businesses from strategy to execution.
“Through expert advisory, training programmes, and structured roadmaps, companies can confidently implement ESG initiatives in a way that aligns with their business goals. To support this process, Regner Consulting also provides customised digital solutions that align directly with each company’s unique operations.”
Advanced tools
The software is designed based on industry-backed research and TAR UMT’s academic insights, ensuring ESG initiatives are seamlessly embedded into daily business processes rather than functioning as a separate, burdensome requirement.
“This isn’t an off-the-shelf solution,” Ho added. “It’s a system built for businesses – their ESG, their strategy, their system. Companies no longer have to struggle with ESG implementation; with the right tools and expertise, doing the right thing is also the most efficient path to success,” said Ho.
Meanwhile, TAR UMT president Prof Lee Sze Wei said: “Together with Regner Consulting, we are equipping businesses with the tools and strategies to lead Malaysia’s transformation toward sustainable and transparent corporate practices.”
