KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Smelting Corp Bhd (MSC), which has been impacted by the disruption in tin metal production at its Port Klang smelter, said the financial impact is still to be determined.

The disruption follows an interrupted gas supply caused by a gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights.

“The financial effects from the disruption have not been determined at this juncture, but it is not expected to have a material impact on the group’s earnings for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025,” MSC said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

MSC said it recognises the challenges currently faced by its gas supplier due to the uncertainty surrounding the resumption of their operations.

“MSC remains committed in engaging with the relevant stakeholders such as the gas supplier and authorities, while actively working towards minimizing the effects of the disruption, it said.
