The US$450mil renovation of the property at Manele Bay that he undertook was considered trailblazing for its over-the-top luxury, including a US$21,000-a-night suite.
Fewer people buzzed over his reinvention of the neighbouring, 34-acre Koele Lodge. But the first Sensei wellness resort, which opened in 2018, would technically be far more visionary.
